resume help!?
EWSD, Siemens, Sun Microsystems, Cisco, Nortell, Urban, Tellabs, DMX, ASAM, DSLAM, Repeaters, EMC2, Rack& Stack, DS3’S, Clocking and GPS, Tyco BDFB power, PDF, LXG, BSC and TRAU are just a few of the different installations I have performed now I need to throw together a resume highlighting some of my skills its hard because I never went to school for any of this I was just thrown into it. I call myself an installer/contractor (the one that gets blamed for everything). Who should I target and what would make these kind of people like me and should I hide the fact that Im female?
If I were you, I’d try to get certified.
CCNP, MCSE, MCDST, etc.
You can do this for far less money than going to college.
As for the resume, simply list the tasks that you had at your job and list some of the more well know software/hardware installations that you’ve done.
As for being female, this is a big ADVANTAGE for you, not a disadvantage. The reason why there are few women in IT, isn’t because we don’t want them. It’s because we can’t GET them.
